Exciting news for Baldur’s Gate 3 fans: cross-play is on its way with the upcoming Patch 8!
The wait is nearly over for players who want to team up with pals across different platforms. PC users will soon be able to join forces with their console buddies. But that’s not the only treat. A fresh photo mode and a dozen new subclasses are also coming to make your battles against the Absolute even more thrilling.
Before this update rolls out, there will be stress testing in early January, giving players a chance to sign up and take part. Specifics on when and how to join will pop up in the next Community Update. However, the exact release date for Patch 8 remains a mystery.
Cross-play will function just like in other online games, allowing you to invite friends into a cross-platform lobby directly. Thanks to the Larian Network, finding multiplayer games with friends on different systems will be a breeze.
Among the new subclasses, some are beloved by fans from Dungeons and Dragons, while others are unique to the game, like the Drunken Master. For more info, check out the Steam page. Here’s a sneak peek at the list:
– Bard – College of Glamour
– Barbarian – Path of Giants
– Cleric – Death Domain
– Druid – Circle of Stars
– Paladin – Oath of the Crown
– Fighter – Arcane Archer
– Monk – Drunken Master
– Ranger – Swarmkeeper
– Rogue – Swashbuckler
– Sorcerer – Shadow Magic
– Warlock – Hexblade
– Wizard – Bladesinging
We love when games give us more ways to play with friends!
Now, let’s chat about the Photo Mode. This new feature lets players capture their adventures in creative ways. Whether you’re in the heat of battle or having a chat, you can snap a picture of your character and team. It even comes with fun frames and over 300 options like emojis, icons, and other cool stuff to jazz up your pics.
Larian has announced that major updates for Baldur’s Gate 3 will soon wind down, but reassured everyone that the mod tools aren’t going anywhere. “With the continued support of mod authors in the community testing out new features, we have big updates still to come including adding even more functionality to let you tell your own stories,” they shared.
Currently, Baldur’s Gate 3 is being offered at a discounted price of $48 on Steam, and the Digital Deluxe Edition DLC is available for just $8.
