In recent times, Call of Duty players have developed some strong opinions about the riot shield, but it won’t be part of Black Ops 6 when it first comes out.
Activision just shared a list of all the weapons, attachments, and upgrades you can use when Black Ops 6 launches, and guess what? The riot shield is missing! This decision might leave players feeling pretty passionate, one way or another.
Facing off against a riot shield can be a real pain because it blocks bullets, forcing opponents to rethink their tactics. Players who master the shield can really change the game, especially in modes like Hardpoint and Domination. But some folks think it adds a cool layer of strategy to the game.
Fans sometimes have very different opinions about things. Some have wanted the riot shield gone for ages, but Activision hasn’t said why they’re leaving it out this time.
There’s always a chance the shield could come back later with an update, as Black Ops 6 will keep getting new stuff throughout its seasons.
Even without the riot shield, players can use a tactic from Gears of War—turning an enemy into a “meat shield.” Sneak up, grab an enemy, and use them for protection or take them out quickly.
They’re also bringing back the Last Stand perk, but it’s now called the Morphine Injector, which might cause some arguments among players.
Black Ops 6 drops on October 25 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. It’s also on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. For more info, check out GameSpot’s details on progression and prestige, or learn about the campaign’s length and endings.
