Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is taking a different path with its story.
In a recent chat with IGN, Jon Zuk, who is an associate creative director, shared that this new game won’t have multiple endings like some of its predecessors. “Black Ops 6 is a linear story, so there is not a branching ending for this one,” he mentioned.
Even though there’s just one conclusion to the story, players can still enjoy some freedom in how they tackle missions. Natalie Pohorski, the lead narrative producer, explained, “Some of the missions have those options of like, ‘Okay, these are the objectives,’ and then you can kind of get the lay of the land and choose which one you want to tackle first.”
She also noted, “If you want to go in hot or stealthy, there’s options for that too. So it kind of depends on the mission, but I think that’s where some of the replayability comes in with the political gala. This time you want to blackmail the senator, or this time you want to hack into a silent auction.”
Fans love having choices, even if the end is the same.
As for how long you’ll be playing, Activision hinted that the campaign length is pretty much what you’d expect from a Call of Duty game. IGN said it might be longer than Black Ops Cold War, but we all know that depends on how you play.
