Devolver Digital has decided to have some fun by hosting their own quirky awards show called Devolver Delayed 2024.
Instead of waiting for The Game Awards, they humorously acknowledged three games that won’t be arriving until 2025: Baby Steps, Stick It To The Stickman, and Skate Story.
- Best Inadvertent Tripping Simulator – Baby Steps
- Best Late Stage Capitalism Roguelite – Stick It To The Stickman
- Best Glass Demon In A Leading Role – Skate Story
They even threw in a surprise fourth award, Best Color Version Of A Monochromatic Classic, which went to Volvy’s Adventure DX. This game features Devolver’s rat-like mascot in an 8-bit side-scrolling adventure.
But here’s the twist: the game might not actually exist! Daniel Mullins, who created Inscryption, said he “doesn’t even think it’s a real game” while accepting the award, leaving us all wondering what’s real.
Baby Steps, Stick It To The Stickman, and Skate Story were expected in 2024, but now they’re set for a 2025 release. Baby Steps was first shown at the Devolver Digital Showcase in June 2023, and the other two games were revealed a year earlier.
