Awards season
Gamescom 2024 is starting this week in Cologne, Germany, and it’s time for the big awards show.
This event focuses on games showcased at Gamescom, including upcoming titles like Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Monster Hunter: Wilds. Categories such as Best Visuals, Best Gameplay, and Most Wholesome will be awarded. While Xbox, PlayStation, and PC categories are still here, the Nintendo Switch category got canceled due to "too few submissions," according to a spokesperson from TheGamer.
Crimson Desert is nominated for Best Visuals, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II for Best Audio, Blue Prince for Best Gameplay, Palworld for Most Entertaining, and Star Wars: Outlaws for Most Epic.
Fans hope their favorite games win!
A panel of journalists and experts will vote on the winners. The winners will be revealed on Friday, August 23 during the Gamescom Awards Show. You can check out the full submission and jury criteria on Gamescom’s website.
Games must pay to be nominated: €440 for one category, €800 for up to three categories, and €200 per extra category. Indie area exhibitors at Gamescom get a 50% discount on these fees.
