Call of Duty MW3’s Poor Reception Didn’t Impact Black Ops 6 Campaign

-

The latest Call of Duty game, MW3, didn’t get much love for its campaign.

Reviews weren’t kind to the MW3 storyline, with GameSpot’s S.E. Doster giving it a measly 5/10, and others felt similarly lukewarm. But, according to John Zuk from Raven Software, this lukewarm reception didn’t change how Black Ops 6 was being developed. He mentioned in a chat with IGN that they were already committed to their story and missions.

Rumor has it that MW3 was initially meant to be just an add-on for Modern Warfare 2. But when it became a full game, the team had to speed things up, cramming what should have been three years of work into just eighteen months. On the flip side, Black Ops 6 has had the luxury of time, cooking for a whole four years. Zuk explained, “The extra development time certainly gives us time to do a little bit more prototyping and a little bit more trying something out, finding out if it’s fun and if it works and throwing some things away.”

Fans always hope for the best, don’t we?

Compared to Cold War from 2020, Black Ops 6 will offer a heftier campaign. Whether you’re sticking to the main missions or hanging out at your safe house tinkering with gear and chatting with pals, there’s plenty to keep you busy.

Mark your calendars for October 25 when Black Ops 6 drops on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. This marks the first time a Call of Duty game will debut on Game Pass Ultimate post-Microsoft’s takeover of Activision Blizzard. Unlike recent times, the campaign won’t be available in “early access” before the official launch. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates!
